Guilt Receipt is designed with a privacy-first architecture. Core calculations run client-side and do not require account creation.
This policy describes what data is processed, how third-party services may operate, and what controls are available to users.
Data Processing Scope
During normal use, you may provide:
- A purchase amount
- Your wage/salary
- Currency preference
- Spending category
This information is processed locally in the browser runtime for result generation.
Our API delivers static reference datasets (for example, comparison items and categories). These requests do not require user account identifiers.
Local Storage and Device Data
We use browser local storage for functional preferences such as:
- Your theme preference (light/dark mode)
- Whether you've acknowledged our cookie notice
You can clear local storage at any time through browser settings.
Cookies and Advertising Technologies
Guilt Receipt uses essential first-party storage for product functionality.
We may display advertisements through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies for ad delivery, fraud prevention, and reporting, subject to applicable law and user consent settings.
You can manage advertising preferences through your Google account and browser controls.
Analytics
We may use privacy-conscious analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns, service quality, and product performance. Analytics data is intended for operational improvement and is not used for personal profiling by us.
